In the gantry weighing system, the load cells are located just above the chains of the handling system. This allows the entire container to be weighed directly during unloading and loading.

Determining the net quantity using two weighings

An initial weighing is performed when the empty container is dropped off. A second weighing is performed when the full container is picked up. Based on the difference between the two weights, the net quantity of the cargo can be accurately determined and recorded.
